Description

This 5 day tour takes you north. Very north, to the Orkney archipelago. Full of beauty and prehistory this tour around the very northern tip of Scotland will be one to remember. Depart Edinburgh heading west passing Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Continue north up the Great Glen to the mysterious beauty of Loch Ness, traveling the whole 23 miles of the famous Loch - plenty of time to try and spot “Nessie!” The evening in Inverness will be free for you to explore the ‘Capital of the Highlands’. On day 2 crossover the Black Isle, and past Andrew Carnegie’s Skibo Castle. At John o’ Groats you board the ferry, crossing the Pentland Firth to the Orkney Archipelago. Visit the famous Italian Chapel where you stop for a visit before continuing to the Viking stronghold of Kirkwall, where you stay for 2 nights. On day 4 leave Orkney and sail back to the mainland.Travel right across the top of Scotland, past the stunning mountains following the stunning golden sand beaches. Continue to Ullapool, situated at the mouth of Loch Broom, a beautiful fishing village where you spend your last night before returning to Edinburgh.
